Why is it so important that you "live your life" while hundreds of thousands of people are dying from COVID-19?
One person dies from COVID every 10 minutes in Los Angeles. So is it still important for you to hold your crappy little party right now? Or is it only okay because no one invited is Chinese?
In 2021 I will not be apologizing for how others make me feel about the anti-Asian sentiment that has increased due to the pandemic. After all, even if you don't see me as Chinese, I am! I will not be silent about the racism that I endure and I don't have to hold space for people who don't see how they have hurt me.

Not talking about racism won’t make it go away. Not talking about racism won’t make it go away. We as citizens should take it upon ourselves to encourage hard conversations about racism in America.

How many more Black people have to die like George How many more Black people have to die like George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor?

People are on the streets, and they’re angry, and they have every single right to be angry. What are we going to do about the conditions that have created this level of outrage?

How are we as individuals going to fix the systemic inequalities and oppression that Black people face on the daily?

Not everyone has the means to donate or is able to protest but if you have the time to post a selfie or a meme, you can speak up for things that matter.
I’ve used my privilege to donate and I’m grateful to work at a company that is matching all of our donations.
Going forward I can use my privilege to offer financial support, ensure that I and the people around me are anti-racist every day, and that the activism I participate in is intersectional.
If you have the luxury of ignoring the state our country is in then it might be a good time to think about how you benefit from structural racism.
Black Lives Matter
#blm #blacklivesmatter #blackouttuesday
If you’ve ever taken a history class in the US t If you’ve ever taken a history class in the US then you are 100% aware of the atrocities that black people have faced ever since the transatlantic slave trade. Black lives matter emerged as a need to emphasize the protection of black people.

Those who have had the luxury of ignoring this particular issue are the beneficiaries of structural racism, white people.

Why is saying “All Lives Matter” wrong? “All Lives Matter” erases systemic inequality in the US.

It means that you refuse to acknowledge that America does not value all lives the same way.
